City League International Advances to A Second Year of Spectacular Show Jumping! 

After a successful "kick off" year, City League International has released it's schedule for 2009 which promises another season of spirited competition among the teams representing various cities in the U.S. and South America.

The League is a new concept in show jumping competition.  The goal of the League is to transform Show Jumping into a spectator sport by establishing city teams, riders, and fans throughout the Southeast.  The horse shows are designed to promote a healthy, active lifesyle among everyone involved, including fans, riders, volunteers, and community members by integrating wellness into the production of each horse show and gala event.  

The teams are lead by a professional equestrian who directs his/her team members in four days of competition.  The teams are ranked at the end of each day according to the results of the day's competition and the evening's competition.  Team riders wear their chosen city colors and compete in speed classes, jump-offs and a Grand Prix on Saturday nights.  Many people attend to cheer their city team on to victory.  It is a fun filled 4 days of competition and it is not just limited to the professionals' teams because the rest of the horse show is available for competition among amateur riders from all cities. Competition includes jumpers and hunters.  

A charity Gala Event is held prior to the Grand Prix on Saturday night at each show.  Fans can buy a ticket to the dinner under a tent and have priority seating at the Grand Prix.  Proceeds are donated to a local Cancer Charity chosen prior to each show.  The night is a combination of a social and athletic event and is designed to be a family affaire.
