Adorable older mare seeks perfect family

"Socket" is a NSH mare in her early twenties. She was rescued from a really bad situation and is ready to find her family. She requires 4 scoops of senior feed daily and grass to maintain weight and is on MSM. No health problems. She is sound and rideable by a rider under 130 lbs. She is slightly swaybacked and has only one eye. The eye was lost due to injury when she was 4 years old, and she is NOT SPOOKY. She's got a prosthetic eye, and the lid is sewn shut (see ad photo.) She has been used for lessons, camp, and has shown in the local show walk/trot in local shows and placed quite well. She's barefoot and sound, up-to-date on everything, and has adorable, animated movement. She does canter but doesn't know her leads, although I'm sure she could learn. No jumping, please. She leads, loads, ties, and picks up her feet just fine. She can be moody to tack. She hates baths, but we just tie her and bathe her, and she walks around the post and deals with it with a grumpy look on her face. She is a very sweet and quirky mare with an endearing personality. She does have a tendency to squeal and kick out sometimes when a rider dismounts, so she is best for a confident beginner or better rider, although I would consider her kid-safe to ride. This mare is for adoption, and she may not be re-sold, traded, or leased to anyone else. She may not be bred. There is an adoption application/contract. No adoption fee to right home.
